Silent Walking Meditation in Nature is one of my favourite meditation practices.
I enjoy practising Silent Walking Meditation in Nature as it combines two of my favourite things: walking in nature and meditation. This practice not only provides the benefits of regular exercise but also helps me let go of worldly concerns and the fast pace of modern life. It has many benefits such as relaxing, balancing and harmonizing the nervous, respiratory and immune systems, and connecting with the peace and positivity within.
When I practice silent walking in nature and meditation together, it helps me take a break from overthinking and unnecessary worry or stress. My nervous system can rest and slow down to the rhythm of nature. After the meditation, my mind is less stressed and more peaceful, creating a space for me to feel more connected to my intuitive and creative qualities, positive, appreciative and uplifted.
I like to practice 40 minutes of silent walking meditation in nature daily. It feels grounding to take one step at a time, be present in my body, observe nature, listen to sounds, feel sensations, connect with my breath, and allow my emotions and thoughts to come and go. After the silent walking meditation practice, I continue with seated meditation in nature for another 10 minutes.
Today, at the end of the meditation, I sat silently with a clearer mind and in a more peaceful, relaxed, and receptive state, observing the beautiful plant and animal kingdom we share this planet with. I felt a deep sense of awe, joy, and gratitude arise. It reminded me of this Lou Reed song which is a perfect expression of this special moment of gratitude I felt communing with this sweet little water bird (Dusky Moorhen) featured in the image of this blog post.

"Oh It's such a perfect day
I'm glad I spent it with you
Oh such a perfect day
You just keep me hanging on
You just keep me hanging on
Just a perfect day
Problems all left alone
Weekenders on our own, it is such fun
Just a perfect day
You made me forget myself
I thought I was someone else
Someone good
Oh it's such a perfect day
I'm glad I spent it with you
Oh such a perfect day
You just keep me hanging on
You just keep me hanging on".
(Excerpt from the song Perfect Day ~ by Lou Reed).
